Kaplan College

So, I had my meeting with a representative from Kaplan College and a tour of the campus, today. Ryder came with me. (He was such a good boy and made friends with everybody.) It was so exciting to talk to someone. When I told her that I had a Bachelor's degree already, the representative got really excited and told me that would cut out a lot of classes. Originally, my plan was to just participate in their CNA program and then transfer elsewhere to get my Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN). Well, While I was there I learned that Kaplan College IS an accredited college!!!! So...I took the first test I needed to to enter their program and "blew it out of the water" at least the representative said I did.
The next step is to go to a Nursing Informational meeting on Monday night. While there, I will be assigned a nursing representative who will take me through every step on an individual basis, from financial aid to registration for the TEAS exam.
Anyway...the meeting went really well today...I'll post more information on Monday or Tuesday after the informational meeting...

Ryder Reads and Rolls Over

I cannot believe how much my baby bear is growing!!! It seems like yesterday I could easily hold him in the crook of my arm--now he's so much longer and wiggles all the time. And he's ROLLING OVER!!! These 3 months have gone by so quickly I can't believe it. I am treausring each moment I have with my sweet boy and will forever be grateful to my husband for allowing me to be able to stay home with our son so I can enjoy these moments<3

Here are a few pictures, too, from the past few days. Ryder loves to read...well look at books. My mom gave him a book about farm animals. He loves to sit with me as I read it to him. He will smile and laugh as I make the noises that a pig/cow/horse/chicken make.
Enjoy looking at these pictures as we let you in to sneak a peek at a moment in our lives...

Come In For A Tour

So, a lot of people have been asking to see where I live now. I guess I am a little far away from them so they can't stop over for a visit. Soooooo...I took a few pictures of my project. In Ryder's room, I am still waiting to find a small bookcase and a dresser. (As of now, all of his clothes are hanging up in his closet and it is packed!!) In the living room, I'm still looking for end tables and a coffee table and in the kitchen, I'm looking for 2 large/tall bookcases. (You'll see all the stuff I'm waiting to put on the bookshelves)
Our little kitchen
(I'm boiling Ryder's bottles to sterilize them)

Our Kitchen Table
(I'm waiting on Pat to put those boxes in our storage in the garage)

This is going from the kitchen to the living room, there is a little area where we have a table and keep Ryder's toys.
(As of now, I'm storing things there that I want to put on bookshelves)

This is going from the living room into the kitchen
(More books for the bookcases)

This is our living room. We use the blankets to wrap Ryder in when we put him down.
(I had just gotten him to go to sleep--He is in the swing on the right under the tan blanket :-) )

Our Bed
(There is a bedside table on the other side)

A Smile and A Thumb

Ryder and Mommy went on a walk today and we got to talk to a bunch of the kids that live on our street. They absolutely loved seeing Ryder and talking to him and making him laugh. Boy, did they may that little bear laugh. Everytime he would look at me he would smile and laugh and everytime one of the little girls would go to tickle him, he would laugh....I absolutely love his smile and cannot believe that he is so responsive to people. It seems like just yesterday that Pat and I brought him home from the hospital and all he would do was sleep, eat, and cry (and boy did he cry haha).
He has also learned to spit out his tongue and has started to mimic Pat when he spits out his tongue. It is so cute watch. And I crack up when Ryder tries to get us to play with him. He will look at one of us and spit his tongue out over and over until we start spitting ours back out at him. As soon as we do, he gets the biggest smile on his face and spits his tongue out again....
Here are some pictures of our walk and his sweet smile...

After we got back, I gave my little man a bottle and layed him down on a blanket. I walked into the kitchen to put his bottle up and when I walked back into the living room, his paci was laying on the ground and his thumb was in his mouth...NONONONONONO...It was so cute but I know how difficult it was for me to "stop" sucking mine-lol-and I didn't want to go through that with Ryder. I had to pull that little thumb out 3 times!
We are now on the look out to prevent him from sucking his thumb...
